Club Constitution:

 

Name and Affiliation

1.1       The club shall be called Golden Ring Amateur Boxing Club, hereafter to be referred to as ‘the club’ and shall be affiliated to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Amateur Boxing Association and the Amateur Boxing Association of England.

 

Objectives

2.1        To foster and promote the sport of amateur boxing at all levels and for all the community irrespective of race, culture, belief and gender.

2.2        To provide opportunities for recreation and competition.

 

Membership

3.1        Membership of the club shall be open to any person completing a membership form and paying the relevant joining fees as  determined by the AGM of club members.

3.2        There shall be three classes of membership, these are…

3.3        Senior club member (over 18), junior club member (under 18) and club boxer (posses a ME3).

 

Officers

4.1       The officers of the club shall be as follows:

Club Doctor, Doctor Andrew Stratford

Training Officer, Mr Leigh Aguis

Boxers Representative, Mr Matthew Page

Parents Representative, Mr Stuart Sinagoga

Competition Secretary, Mr Stuart Gill

Youth Development Officer, Mr Mike Cunio

Election of Officers

5.1       All officers shall be elected at an AGM of the club, and by, the members of the club.

5.2       All officers are elected for a period of one year, but may be re-elected to the same or another office the following year.

 

General Committee

6.1       The general committee comprises all executive officers and shall meet no less than four times per year.

6.2       The duties of the committee will be….1) to control the affairs of the club,  2) to keep accurate accounts that should be audited before each AGM and available for inspection,  3) maintain a bank account that the chairman and treasurer are authorised to sign,  4) make decisions on the basis of a simple majority vote. In the case of equal votes, the chairman has the additional casting vote.

 

General Meetings

7.1           The AGM shall take place no later than October of each year. 35 days notice of the AGM shall be communicated to all club members.

7.2           The business of the AGM shall be too……

7.2.1, Confirm the minutes of the previous AGM.

7.2.2, Receive the audited accounts for the year from the treasurer.

7.2.3, Receive the annual report of the committee from the secretary.

7.2.4, Elect an auditor.

7.2.5, Nominate and elect the officers of the club.

7.2.6, Review club membership and training costs.

7.2.7, To take care of ‘any other business’ brought to the meetings attention.

 

Alterations to the Constitution

8.1           Any proposed alterations to the constitution may only be considered at an AGM. Alterations must be proposed and seconded by full members of the club

 

Dissolution

If at a convenient meeting, a movement of dissolution is passed by two thirds of the full members of the club present, the resolution shall proceed and the assets of the club realised and all debts and liabilities discharged. Any outstanding assets shall be passed on to an amateur boxing club with the same aims and objectives as at Golden Ring Amateur Boxing Club.
